Geoff Pitman has been a successful golf professional for over 35 years, previously at the; Invercargill, Russley and Royal Wellington Golf Clubs and then owner-operator of the Hutt Valley Golf Centre in Wellington. He was also the former assistant National Mens Coach and National Womens Coach in New Zealand and has worked with many of the country’s leading players including Michael Campbell, Phillip Tataurangi, Michael Long and Lynette Brooky.

There is a plentiful supply of country and professional golf courses within the Central Plateau region. Most courses are within an easy and scenic 1 hour drive of Ruapehu Country Lodge. Or you can go slightly further afield, with a 1.5 hour drive to play Wairakei, Taupo or discover one of New Zealand’s most exclusive courses, Kinloch.

Waimarino - The greens and fairways are well maintained by National standards and their record for well-run tournaments is renowned. Taumarunui - Taumarunui’s Golf Course, ‘Tarrangower’, dates back to the early 1920’s and has developed into a most attractive all weather Course featuring 18 holes of undulating fairways of park like appearance. For more information click here: www.taumarunuigolfclub.co.nz

Taihape – Taihape Golf Course has been identified as a "tester" for all golfers. A feature is the par 3, 12th hole described by Arnold Palmer as "the best natural par three he has played". Rangatira – A unique 18 hole course situated in the heart of the Rangitikei. What gives Rangatira that uniqueness; the course is built on three levels, stunning views of the Rangitikei River, and a ride in the Electric Cable Car, the only one of its kind in New Zealand. Wairakei - Located in the heart of the North Island and set amongst the spectacular scenery of the Lake Taupo region, is the Wairakei International Golf Course.
